The puwer inspection process for Brighton premises
The checks depend on the premises and the systems in them.
Guarding and hazard inspection
Fixed and interlocked guards are checked for gaps, damage and bypassing around moving parts, and each machine is photographed and logged.
Controls and emergency stop testing
Start and stop controls, emergency stops and isolators are tested to confirm they work and are clearly marked. Faults are noted against each machine so repairs are simple to track.
Maintenance and training review
A competent person reads the maintenance log, past thorough examination reports and operator training records to confirm servicing is current and staff know how to use each item.
Written defect report
Every finding is recorded with its location, a photo and a clear result, giving a report that supports the risk assessment and any repair work.
